A NYPD police officer walks through the dust past the Chelsea Jeans store at 176 Broadway. The front window of the store was smashed and the owner David Cohen, afterwards encased an area of clothes in glass to make an impromptu shrine which became a place of pilgrimage for thousands of tourists, mourners and recovery workers in the year after the attack. The front window display of the store has since been moved into the national 9/11 museum.
